New Website!

New Website!

After keeping an eye on the domain name for years (and even e-mailing the old owner once upon a time and not getting a response), I FINALLY got AdamPoe.com. It expired, and I was there at the exact minute to purchase it. I am super excited about that for some reason.

After I claimed the domain name, I immediately pointed it toward my hosting plan and installed WordPress. After days of messing with css/php and all that crap, I finally created a site that looks semi-decent — to me at least. Hopefully everyone else likes it so far also. It does still need some prettifying, though.

This is the main reason I haven’t blogged in a while. I have been working like crazy on websites. The one that took me the absolute longest and that I am proudest of is for our author services business – Frostbite Publishing. I welcome everyone to check that out and leave feedback as well. Kayla also took advantage of our newly purchased web hosting to update her site – K.A. Poe.

Another reason for my lack of writing lately, aside from working a crap-ton on websites, is that I have been trying to get on a new sleep cycle and it is not working out too well so far. The new sleep cycle is very important though, as I have finally landed a 9-5 type position at my management job. That is 9-5 eastern, which is a 7am start time for me at this part of the year, and 6am after autumn begins. To frame that a little — I generally go to bed at 2am and get up at 10 or 11. Since college, I have never had a ‘normal’ sleep schedule. Every job I have had has had either evening or overnight hours. This will be weird. So anyway, I have been pretty exhausted trying to get on this cycle. I have until this Sunday to nail it. It is hard to write when you are super tired. I should probably do it anyway.

Well, there ya go, the first blog post on this new site I created. Nothing spectacular or anything … pretty mundane/boring stuff, but I felt it was almost a requirement. I know I have said it before, but I am going to try to start blogging more — at least once a week. This might mean it is random crap, but that is okay. It is all fun (and practice).

My work break is ending, so need to run back to my job office. As always, thanks for reading!

Adam works hard but tries not to take himself too seriously. He is the second-best author in his household, and has published a total of zero books under his own name. When he isn't spending his time writing things that never happened or wondering if he was born either 3,000 years late or 3,000 years early, he can be found hugging the air-conditioner in his home near Phoenix.
